The basic difference between B.Sc and B.Tech is that B.Sc is pure science, while B.Tech is applied science.

In pure science we do research and establish information about a field, say, biology, while applied science uses this information to develop new technologies for eg., biotechnology.

Thus, engineering is an applied science, used in industries, wherein new products and technologies are developed, on the basis of the research done in pure science.

Both courses are hence different.
