Is BE and Btech same?

I had applied for a government post, after completing my BE in printing tech, but the officials are not ready to accept that both B.Tech and BE are same and they need proof from UGC or AICTE that both the degrees are equivalent. What should i be doing now? They need a btech degree holder, and i had read that these two are one and the same, as some institutes provide b.e and some and only the title is different.

If you have a Degree Certificate of a college/university which is recognised by AICTE/UGC., you need to show that.

If the same is not mentioned on the certificate, but your university/college is recognised by AICTE/UGC, then you need to approach your college and request them to give a letter to that effect.

BE and Btech both are bachelors degree in engineering. Just that the IITs and few others give it the name of, while all others give it the name of B.E.

Only minor difference is that IITs stress a bit on practical application while BE has a bit more theoretical study.
