MBA-IT is a specialised MBA that is designed to cater to management strategies, working, case studies, analysis etc., of IT industry.

If you are doing computers and wish to get into IT industry, working on the management part, it could be a good option.

In practice however doing a regular MBA is equally good, especially if you want to have broader options of applying to all types of companies.

MBA IT could be useful to students totally focussed and determined to work in IT or related industry. It is also helpful for people working in IT industry to get a higher degree and leverage their career in IT industry. It depends on your choice.

If you want more options or even unsure of whether you will limit yourself to IT organizations, then MBA Regular could be a safer option, or if not, MBA IT can be a great choice.

Here is an interesting article comparing a regular and specialised MBA – http://genwis.com/mba/mba-regular-vs-specialised-mba-programme
