CAT 2014 major changes in exam pattern


CAT 2014 would see major changes in terms of exam pattern, number of test days, duration of the exam, application process and admit card download.

CAT 2014 would be held in two sessions a day viz., first on November 16 and second on November 22, 2014, in computer based format.

Admit Cards is to be downloaded by the registered candidates from October 16, 2014 till the exam day. Admit Card will not be sent to the candidates’ email ids after the registration.

Registration for CAT 2014 will remain open till September 30, 2014. The results will be declared in the third week of December 2014.

CAT 2014 exam will be computer based objective exam with multiple choice questions, consisting of two sections with 50 questions in each section viz.,

  1. Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and
  2. Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning

Students will have 2 hrs and 50 min to solve the entire paper comprising of 200 questions.

Students will have the flexibility to switch between the 2 sections, thus getting more time to devote on segment they are are weaker in.

The scores are

  • 3 marks for right answer
  • 1 negative mark for incorrect answers and
  • no marks for unanswered questions.
